Brunei Bridge

This elegant yet modular construction was to be the main river crossing in Brunei, also serving an important civic purpose. The need to accommodate and separate vehicles and pedestrians led to the introduction of split levels and an extraordinary waterjet devise which cascaded water out and over the pedestrian walking, cooling pedestrians and masking the traffic noise when prayer time was taking place. At night this water sculpture is illuminated to imitate the sense of liquid gold pouring from the bridge.
