Universal Tool Factory

UTP, a world class engineering company manufacturing high precision components for the petrochemical and aviation industries.  The brief was to provide a single building that represented their core brand values.

The smooth cladding of the design studio contrasts with the rugged cladding of the workshop where the raw material is honed to perfection.

Strict environmental requirements meant their production must remain within tight thermal tolerance targets as relatively small variations of air temperature could result in product specification failure.  These challenges were achieved by using under floor heating, ground source bore holes achieving internal temperature variations of +/- 1oC.
