Marwell Gibbons

As part of the Zoological park’s 10 year Strategic Masterplan, Marwell have commissioned rha to design a number of new facilities including this Gibbons enclosure. The design philosophy is to create a landscape for the Gibbons which more closely resembles their natural habitat in Asia. This will not only create a more naturalistic environment for the animals but also a more realistic and immersive experience for visitors. Utilising the existing topography and planting the design is centred around an existing water feature and flanked by a number of animal enclosures, all of which contain indigenous species.
